One of the most interesting things about metropolitan like Jakarta is its cityscape. Jakarta never sleeps so having your way to explore Jakarta at night is a good idea too as you can witness the beauty of the cityscape in the central of Jakarta. It has plenty skyscrapers that make an amazing night view to enjoy. Explore Kota Tua

Kota Tua is a complex or street that provide ambience and architecture of the olden days of Jakarta during the Dutch Colonialism. This is where you can get to find out what old Jakarta looked like. You can visit Museum Wayang or Museum Sejarah Jakarta. Tired after strolling around, chill at one of the cafes and enjoy the view of the city.

Stroll around in Monas

Monas or Monumen Nasional is Indonesia’s tallest monument. Interesting part of the monument is the replica of fire on the top made of gold to symbolize the burning spirit of the struggle for independence. This is a great place to learn more about the country’s history towards independence. Visit the Independence Room to see amphitheater and authentic text about the proclamation of Indonesia Independence. Enjoy the scenery of the city from the top of the monument. 

Visit Pulau Seribu

Pulau Seribu or Seribu Island is favorite place for Jakarta residents to escape from the hustle bustle of the city. This is where you can spend your time enjoying a nice sea breeze and warm sun light. The island has white sand beaches with clear and relatively calm water. This island is also rather family-friendly spot so you can take your kids along to enjoy various activities in the beach of the island. 

Have fun in Ancol Dreamland

Ancol Dreamland is a favorite destination especially for the Jakarta residents to have some fun during weekends or national holidays. This place has many interesting sites to explore both for adults and kids. Try various rides in Dufan, the biggest amusement park in Indonesia situated inside the area. Ancol also has Sea World, a giant aquarium where underwater life freely swimming around. You can see them through the glass walls.
